Technology is truly amazing when one considers how basic things were only a few years ago. It wasn’t but a decade ago that your garage door had to be opened by hand. And it was only a few years ago that electronic garage door openers became smart garage door openers. Technological improvements such as the Smartphone/iPhone-compatible LifterMaster app made it possible to open and close your garage while you’re away from home. Now, new products such as the “wi-fi garage door opener” take things a step further. Read more here!
Chamberlain Presents: The New Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener
The innovators responsible for the LiftMaster — as well as some of the overall most advanced openers to be created — are the Chamberlain Group. LiftMaster is their line of professionally installed products, but the new wi-fi garage door opener is part of their more DIY-oriented Chamberlain line.
How the Opener Works
The Chamberlain Wi-Fi Garage Door Opener with MyQ Smartphone Control, as it is called, is the first of its kind. It has integrated Wi-Fi connectivity, requiring just a Wi-Fi connection in your home as well as the Chamberlain MyQ Smartphone app, which will soon be available for download on all smartphones.
The new Chamberlain comes with all the functionality of the LiftMaster app, enabling people to open and close their garage from miles away, as well as tell whether it has been closed upon leaving. However, there’s more: it also surveys all home activity, giving users a completely new sense of safety and security. It can tell them when people are entering the house, meaning they will be alerted during both break-ins and when family members come home.
